Wolf Creek Anglers 2012

Welcome to the blog for Wolf Creek Anglers!
May 6, 2012
We are anticipating a great season.  We have reoccupied the old flyshop location in Pagosa Springs.  Lots of square footage and a great new inventory.

Lets get to what everyone wants to know.  How's the fishing?  Our rivers are at peak seasonal flows currently.  The Rio and San Juan are running color during the day.  Headwaters are high but fishable.  If you're going to be in town and plan on an outting be sure to use the early hours of the day.  Water levels usually stabilize and drop a bit during the cooler evening and morning hours.  Nymphing has been the ticket.  Be sure to use plenty of weight as the water is cranking.

We expect the season to be accelerated with the lack of snow and warm temps.  This simply means our seasons hatches may occur a little early this year.  Salmonfly, which usually occurs toward the end of June may occur a week or two early.  Rest assured we'll keep you informed.

We plan on having both shops open very soon.  Guided trips will start very soon :-)
